Abstract
I open this portfolio with three critical essays, exploring a variety of literary traditions through varied lenses. Next, I share translations of seven pieces from Spanish and two from French, as well as commentary on my translation methodology. Throughout, I think about how relationships to others, to the world at large, and to language construct identity for characters, authors, and their readers.
