Abstract
I develop an Android app for New College of Florida (NCF Mobile). The NCF Mobile is to offer students, alumni and visitors an easy, convenient, and user-friendly tool to access campus resources. This centralized manner of access allows users to easily retrieve important information regarding the campus services and resources. Based on interviews with college students and administrators, I choose the app features: Announcements, Campus Map, Food, and Important Numbers. To develop the front end and back end of the application, I use Android Studio. By having users test the user-interface of the application, I develop a front end that is feasible, comprehensible, and most importantly, usable by the community. For the back-end, I follow best practices where I implement MVVM application architecture to produce a modular production-quality app. In the future, I plan to enhance the app by allowing a user-login as well as other features, such as Ham points donations and walking directions on the Campus Map.
