Abstract
This thesis explores the challenges of, and skills required for, video game development. Myself and a team of 2 other computer Science students will develop a multiplayer online collectible card game called Amorphous. The challenges addressed will be software engineering, game design, game marketing, and team communication. Amorphous is software written in the programming language Java. It uses the support libraries SQlite and several built in java libraries. Amorphous uses a client-server system to support the multiplayer aspect and a SQL database for player accounts and cards. The game engine is built in the form of an event driven system.
