Abstract
This thesis is an ecological reading of two works of fiction—Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World and Frank Herbert’s Dune. The thesis focuses on the ecological aspects of the two novels and the impacts and consequences of human manipulation as seen in the texts. The first chapter will delve into the manipulation of the natural world and the second will center on the manipulation of human nature. I will take into account ideas of power, awareness, control, and perception.
