Abstract
This thesis studies the nature of translation and adaptation, specifically regarding Griselda Gambaro’s Antígona Furiosa. It considers the historical, cultural and linguistic elements of translation, as well as the challenges of performance within the context of translation. The second chapter of the thesis consists of an original translation of Gambaro’s Antígona Furiosa, and the third chapter is a discussion of its performance. A copy of that performance is included on a DVD.
