Abstract
Travel planning is often harder than it should be. Most people find themselves stuck between two extremes: social media platforms with lots of content available, but disorganized travel-related information, and traditional blog websites where information is often cluttered and overwhelming. More often than not, travelers have to switch between tabs just to plan their trip, making the whole process feel stressful rather than exciting. This project aims to solve this problem through Our Routes, a travel platform built with a React, Django, and PostgreSQL tech stack that enables users to share their travel stories in a structured way using the Gemini API to summarize long posts into short, easy-to-read overviews, and a space where users can ask questions on various travel-related topics. By focusing on simple, user-friendly navigation and useful features, Our Routes make it easy for travelers to turn a bucket list into an actual trip, providing recommendations that help create a more culturally enriching experience.
