Abstract
MatchFit is a full-stack web application designed to help amateur soccer teams manage internal logistics in one centralized system. Many teams currently rely on fragmented communication and planning tools such as group chats, email threads, and paper notes. This creates information silos where important updates are missed, schedules are unclear, and player availability is not reliably tracked. The result is extra administrative work for coaches and inconsistent accountability for players. The objective of this project was to design and implement a user-friendly platform that supports core team operations without requiring advanced technical skill. MatchFit provides secure authentication with role-based access (coach vs. player), player profile and roster management, a shared event calendar for training and matches, RSVP/ availability tracking per event, a coach-oriented lineup planning tool, and team-wide announcements. All team data is stored securely in a relational database to support consistent scheduling and retrieval.
This thesis presents the requirements, design decisions, and implementation details of MatchFit, including system architecture, database design, and feature workflows. The system was evaluated through functional testing of core flows such as login, event creation, availability submission, and lineup creation, with attention to reliability and usability for real-world coaching environments. The results show that consolidating scheduling, attendance, and communication features into one platform can reduce coordination friction and improve clarity across a team.
