Abstract
This thesis includes an academic overview of the process to research, write, and produce an original musical. The Legend of Anne Bonny was created through historical research of the Golden Age of Piracy and contemporary studies of modern-day musicals. The art, a 100-page script with book and lyrics, is comprised of two acts, fifteen scenes, and seventeen songs.
