Abstract
As the quarantine of the global pandemic of COVID-19 comes to a close, and the cyber world of the fourth industrial boom takes aim, we are faced with many new ideas of experiences and spaces. In turn, we are faced with questions of how exactly to react to such experiences, yet to face the impact such dynamics might have on our consciousness. This thesis is a study of the essence of this relationship (between experience and consciousness,) also known as phenomenology. Through an interactive installation, my thesis will explore themes of sensation, space, and self in order to convey the relevance of experiences and their impact on our consciousness. In order to facilitate a positive, metaphysical exploration of phenomenology, I will employ motifs of the self and various means of self care through a surreal portrayal of a lavatory. By alluding to the participation of such acts through engagement with the installation, the audience themselves will demonstrate processes of phenomenology.
