Abstract

This thesis is a comparative analysis of the responses of South Korea and the US to the global Covid-19 pandemic. This thesis examines the policy initiatives put forth by both countries to alleviate the spread of the virus as well as the social complications that arise from the public because of them. It assesses and compares both countries’ performance in mitigating the impacts of the virus. Ultimately, it emphasizes the importance of being prepared for global health crisis’ like Covid-19 and shows how specific actions can be the deciding factor between saving hundreds of thousands of innocent lives or protecting them.
