Abstract
In this thesis, I analyze representations, gender, archetypes, and more in 51 children’s films released between 1965 and 2012. I define the phrase “My Generation, Our Generation,” and argue that these films have influenced the political and moral compasses of the members of this. Using an auto-ethnographic approach, I explain the personal impact of these films on my understanding of the world when I grew up, and how I saw these films impact my peers through our social interactions.
