Abstract
How to Make Gold and Other Impossible Things: Examining Alchemy in Greco-Roman Egypt seeks to understand alchemy in Greco-Roman Egypt through an examination of the historical context of the alchemists and alchemical philosophy as well as translations of alchemical texts. The process also involved performing chemistry experiments in order to understand further the types of experiments ancient alchemists could have performed and the types of reactions they may have observed, expanding the understanding of ancient alchemy even further.
