Abstract

CPT stands for charge, parity, and time, and CPT-symmetry is the assumption that in a universe where CPT are all inverted at once with respect to our universe, the laws of physics remain the same. CPT-symmetry is respected by the Standard Model of particle physics, which most Physicists agree to be incomplete. In this thesis, the first order effects of a CPT-violating model on the orbit of a particle moving in the Schwarzschild metric gravitational field are calculated. The model introduces a uniform background vector field which couples with the helicity of the particle, and leads to a spin-dependent precession effect on the orbit.
