Abstract
This Handbook is inspired by my senior research project: exploring applications, questions, and practices of community accountability (CA) in an institutional place of work close to my home. CA is a process in which people connected to one another work together to recognize, end, and prevent further harm. This Handbook reflects some successes and challenges of applying the CA framework with and between lower-wage employees and a second group of people with more institutional power. During six weeks, we used the eight guiding questions of the Creative Interventions Toolkit and practiced the CA value of centering the wants, needs, and insight of people most directly impacted: here, employees. This Handbook includes definitions and some recommendations for groups attempting the first stages of CA in an institutional place of work.
