Abstract
The Evening of Electras consists of the adaptation of the classical Greek tragedy, Electra by Sophocles, Euripides, and Aeschylus, that takes inspiration from video games, specifically interactive games or role-playing games. Like these games, the audience gets the power to shape the narrative through scripted choices presented on stage. The main focus of the process is to show that emotional immersion, the ability to empathize with the characters and the narrative, is at the same level of immersion as spatial immersion, the immersision containing to a space or location. The research includes sources on different forms of immersive theatre, like Josephine Machon and Punchdrunk, in order to show revelant defintions and topics pertaining to spatial immersion. Movies, such as Nerve, and video games, like Life is Strange, are also used as sources to express different types of emotional immersion in modern day narratives/technologies. Through participation, the audience can experience the emotional immerision that focuses around narrative rather than the spatial immersion.
