Abstract
This thesis involves the process of digitizing medieval manuscripts that were donated to New College in 2008-2009 by Larry Schoenberg. Included in this thesis are several chapters which delve into the digitization process, compare physical and digital archives, explore the benefits and challenges of digital manuscript archiving in proxy with academics and their research, a look into how medieval manuscripts have reached the general populace, and an evaluation of several digital archives from different institutions. The manuscript digitization project itself can be located on New College’s Digital Collections at http://ncf.sobek.ufl.edu/l/manu/all.
