This study examined the intercorrelation of mindfulness with individual relationship with nature and spirituality. Eighty-nine college students filled out measures assessing their closeness with nature, spiritual practices, and daily levels of mindfulness, as well as measures targeting mindful awareness and acceptance specifically. Data analysis found mindful awareness to be significantly correlated with closer reported relationship with nature, while mindful acceptance was found to be significantly correlated with closer reported relationship with nature. The motivational mechanisms underlying these relationships are discussed.
