Abstract
This thesis looks into the relationship between various types of intelligences (thinking styles) and religiosity/spirituality. Specifically, two studies were conducted to observe the relationship between Gardner's various intelligences and it's relationship with eight different items for religiosity/spirituality as well as to check for consistency. For Study 1, there was a positive relationship between Spatial, Bodily and Interpersonal intelligence with the religiosity item of Forgiveness. For Study 2, there was a much more stronger positive relationship between Spatial, Bodily and Interpersonal intelligence with not only Forgiveness but with the other religious items as well. In addition, Analytical, Linguistic and Musical intelligences were found to have a positive relationship with religiosity/spirituality. These results were found while being controlled for age and gender. These results suggest that there was a significant positive relationship between various intelligences and religiosity/spirituality.
