Abstract
The abject disturbs identity, system, and order. "Walls of Flesh: Abject Aesthetics" explores the aesthetics of the abject within the context of the gallery. It explores identity by exposing the viewer to artwork that lies in a state of liminality. Using the gallery as an artistic medium instead of backdrop for art, the system and order of a common space is disrupted, in an attempt to evoke abject responses from the viewers.
