Abstract
The telos of this joint-disciplinary thesis is to exercise modes of classical and modern music analysis to the limits, and supplement its shortcomings with applied mathematical viewpoints on music through spectral analysis of harmonic overtones. Using Frederic Rzewski's 1980 score for two pianos, performed with Ursula Oppens, an arrangement was composed for the three ensembles, an electric guitar and an electric bass guitar each.
