Abstract
This thesis analyzes inner Beauty and external beauty in the tale of Cinderella in Charles Perraults Cendrillon (Cinderella), the Grimm brothers Aschenputtel (Cinderella), Vclav Vorlceks Tri orsky pro Popelku (Three Nuts for Cinderella), and Andy Tennants Ever After. This work, based on Platos philosophy of Beauty, analyzes and states that regardless of the time period, place or medium in which each adaptation was created, the overall standards of what constitutes Beauty remain the same throughout: for true Beauty to exist in a person there must be, first and foremost, inner Beauty; any physical beauty, whether of the individuals or their clothing, only serves to embellish or mask what is innately there.
