Abstract

My written thesis reflects the process that I have gone through to produce first a play and then a film of David Ives' play The Philadelphia. I have discussed this work in terms of preproduction, postproduction of film. I address the directing and editing influences on my work (both play and film) in my chapter on preproduction. This is a working document of my attempt to construct a method of working with the film medium, which includes the arduous taste of communicating through visual imagery.
