Abstract

English Abstract This project is an investigation of the queen Joanna I of Castile during different time periods. During her time, this queen, now known throughout the world as Joanna "the Mad", was classified as incapable of reining to mental infirmities and sufferings. Since her death, a fantastic legend developed around this enigmatic figure. This investigation presents the theme of Joanna I of Castile from historical, visual and narrative perspectives. It is an assembly of the documental evidence of the time period that survives regarding Joanna I, the works of art commissioned her or those around her during her lifetime, and the works of fiction based on her that have been created since her death. The objective in bringing together these varied perspectives is to stimulate an interest in the case this queen. The intent of this examination is to discuss who classified as insane, propose and support possible reasons for this classification, investigate the roots of the legend and mentality surrounded the figure centuries. By doing this, this investigation is intended to open a new discussion whose objective is to begin to separate the real person, Joanna I of Castile, from the legend of Joanna "the Mad". Spanish Abstract Este proyecto es una investigacion del tratamiento de la reina Juana Castilla durante epocas diferentes. Esta reina, conocida en todas partes como Juana "la Loca", fue clasificada como incapaz de reinar por razones de enfermedades y sufrimientos mentales durante su propia epoca, desde su muerte ha desarrollado una fantastica leyenda alrededor de figura de ella. Esta investigacion presenta el tema de Juana I de Castilla perspectivas distintas: historicas, visuales, y narrativas. Es un conjunto la evidencia documental que sobrevive con respecto a Juana, las obras arte comisionadas durante su epoca, y las obras de ficcion basadas ella, creadas despues de su muerte. El objetivo en juntar estas perspectivas es estimular un interes en el caso de esta reina. Esta examinacion intenta discutir quien la clasifica como loca, proponer y apoyar posibles razones por la clasificacion, e investigar las raices de leyenda y el pensamiento sobre ella. A traves de eso, este proyecto abrir una discusion nueva con el objetivo de empezar a separar la persona verdadera, Juana I de Castilla, de la leyenda de Juana "la Loca".
