Abstract
The effects of spontaneous Lorentz-symmetry breaking are studied in application to two fundamental QED processes. The free particle and eigenenergies of the Lorentzsymmetry breaking model are derived; in this model the spin degeneracy is broken, making the scattering cross section calculations non-trivial. In both of the QED processes studied it is necessary to concentrate on the case where the incoming particle beams are polarized in order to be able to measure the effects of the symmetry breaking coefficient. The first scattering process studied is Rutherford Scattering. In the second process, e- e+ ---t f-L- f-L+, it is necessary to parametrize the momenta of the incoming particle beams in terms of their velocities. In the process of carrying out the calculations, helicity spin projection operators are developed to facilitate the computations.
