Abstract
This senior project is a creative work that looks at self-initiated learning, as well as intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in education. This work highlights some of the possibilities for learning that stem from curiosity and a selfquestioning attitude. Incorporating ten fictional short stories, ten illustrations, an essay, and a self-critical coda, this project centers on both hypothetical and real learning experiences. The ideas presented here encourage a shift away from our society's current focus on extrinsic motivation in learning and towards developing the self-initiating tendency of the learner.
