Abstract
In order to perform low-energy tests for Lorentz violation using the Dirac equation, it is beneficial to take the nonrelativistic limit of operators. To this end, we introduce the rudiments of Relativistic Quantum Mechanics, and a necessary representation transformation that allows us to isolate terms that give dominant contribution to the expectation value of operators in the nonrelativistic limit. We then extend this procedure to the Lorentz-violating case to compute the altered, nonrelativistic limit of some commonly used operators and discuss the contributions of the Lorentz-violating parameters on their expectation values.
