Abstract
This translation of Titus Maccius Plautus' Miles Gloriosus has been undertaken in order to provide students with a serious interest in Plautus or classical comedy with an accurate, modem version of the Miles Gloriosus. Stage directions have been interpolated primarily in order to facilitate reading. Three chapters of commentary have been included, along with two brief appendices. The first chapter deals with the life and times of Plautus, the second with the structure of the play, and the third with various modem views of the social role such plays had in antiquity.
