Abstract
Since the McGovern-Fraser Commission's campaign reforms of the early 1970s, the news media's role as the conduit between presidential candidates and voters has become increasingly intensified. The news media's emphasis on sound bites and images has come to dominate the coverage of presidential campaigns, causing the candidates themselves to alter their strategies to be better able to win elections. This thesis examines the dynamics of presidential campaign politics in a teledemocracy.
