Description
Leaf from a book of hours, containing part of the “Obsecro te,” from “[hu-]manam carnem” through “et requestis meis, Et in omnibus [angustiis].”
Single folio with a single column of 18 lines of text on each side, ruled in pale red and written in black ink, surrounded by generous margins. Striking contrast between the plainness of the folio (i.e., its utter lack of decoration), and the high quality of the parchment, the size of the margins, and the extremely high quality of the calligraphy; these suggest that marginal decoration was originally intended, but never added.
